Interplex offers customers access to fully integrated molding capabilities. All stages of the molding process— from computer-aided design through tool-making and production to assembly— are controlled in-house, much of it on custom-built equipment. This is essential to maintain the high quality and reliability of the customized detailed moldings that we deliver to our valued customers.

Our insert molding, plastic injection molding and rubber molding capabilities are complemented by other value-added in-house capabilities such as heat treatment (both Aluminum and Stainless Steel), deionized water washing and hydrocarbon washing of parts to meet RoHS requirements.

Insert Molding

Insert molding is a process whereby a part— often a metal stamped part— is subjected to the injection of thermoplastic around it to create a new, discrete component. Interplex is a renowned leader in insert molding, and has expertise in reel-to-reel, rotary and shuttle insert molding technology.

With an expansive global footprint and comprehensive suite of capabilities, we can integrate molding processes with our in-house precision metal stamping and electroplating capabilities. This allows us to offer customers a comprehensive solution for their end application needs, all while reducing total acquisition costs and improving quality by eliminating potential defects between processes.

Our design and manufacturing expertise in insert molded solutions along with application expertise in electronic packaging and connector technology enables us to develop, design and deploy turnkey solutions to fulfil our customers’ electronic packaging needs.

Our robust internal insert molding tooling and design capabilities ensure all tools exceed customer requirements. We employ top-of-the-line CAD packages such as AutoCAD, and CADKEY, as well as 3D packages such as Pro E and SolidWorks for mold and part design.

Injection Molding

Interplex’s global facilities are equipped with a wide range of plastic injection molding equipment with tonnage ratings ranging from 30 – 650 tons.

Our highly skilled engineers and technicians work on our computerized injection molding machines to ensure that each molded part meets the product specifications of our customers. Our injection molding tools and stamping tools are designed and built in-house. Precision stamped components which have been plated (either entirely or selectively in Gold or Tin) can be assembled into moldings by hand or via an automated process if the volume is high.

Our expertise spans across many domains in the engineering and manufacturing value chain, and are complemented by various in-house processes.
