The purpose of a car’s transmission is to shift gears accordingly to ensure that the correct amount of power goes to the wheels to drive the car at a given speed. Transmissions can be either manual or automatic.

In the former, the driver steps on the clutch to disengage the engine and transmission, shifts the gear stick manually, and then releases the clutch having shifted into this new gear. The latter uses a torque converter that automatically achieves this for the driver without use of a clutch. Modern automatic transmissions use pressurized hydraulic fluid to change gears. Each time a gear change is required, the transmission solenoid is activated to direct transmission fluid into the valve body to engage the correct gear.

Interplex’s customized transmission solutions perform excellently in the dynamic environment they are in. They have proven to be sturdy, durable and robust, and trusted by automotive companies worldwide.

Connector Headers

Connector headers are electrical connectors with one or more rows of male pins spaced apart within an insert molded body. Interplex’s connector headers provide good mating retention for reliable connections in a large variety of end applications and sub-systems, and we can support you every step of the way with numerous pin count and pitch options, current carrying capacities, pin orientations (vertical/right angles) and wire sizes.

Our full suite of capabilities enable us to reliably precision stamp metal and mold plastic (pre-molding, overmolding and insert molding) that is required for connector headers. These processes are complemented with a comprehensive range of value-added processes such as plating and potting.

Motor Connectors

Interplex’s motor connectors cater to various end applications across multiple automotive sub-systems. We are well equipped to precision stamp metal and mold plastic (pre-molding, overmolding and insert molding) to adhere to your motor connector requirements. These manufacturing processes are complemented by value-added processes such as plating, heat staking and soldering.

Our full suite of capabilities enable us to customize a myriad of motor connectors for different end applications— from voltage regulator brush holders to power window brush holders, to clutch actuators and windshield wiper motor applications.

Solenoid Solutions

Interplex’s mission-critical solenoid solutions are present in various locations throughout a car, and range from brackets to pole and fixture disks, to enclosures and disk springs. Our reliable solutions cover a wide range of end applications such as hydraulic valve lifter movement, transmission fluid control, and variable valve timing system oil control.

Being vertically integrated, we are well equipped to precision stamp, deep draw, and plate solenoid parts to your exacting specifications. These processes are complemented by value-added processes like annealing, oiling, cleaning and polishing. Our global footprint ensures that no matter where you are, we can provide these customized application solutions close to you.
