Jalisco, Mexico (April, 2022) – Child homelessness is often underestimated, with insufficient attention given to the developmental needs of a child. Children who are pushed out of their homes typically leave with clothes or essential items and arrive on the streets with nothing.
This Children’s Day, Interplex Mexico remembers these vulnerable children who are homeless in Jalisco, Mexico. The employees in Interplex Mexico started a toys donation drive for new and second-hand toys in clean and good condition. The goal of the donation drive was to bring care and joy to the hearts of young children living in precarious conditions by gifting each child their very own toy.
Through the month of April, our team collected new or lightly used toys for over 40 homeless children. The toys collected consisted of toy cars, building blocks, educational games that did not require batteries. The team set up a collection point at our facility and parents brought their children on 30 April 2022 to select a toy.
Interplex is grateful for the opportunity to contribute back to the community. Receiving a toy can help a child regain a sense of normality and make the world seem a little kinder. We hope that our support and contributions brought joy to the homeless children in Jalisco.
