Supporting Ren Ai School in Suzhou, China with Stationery Donation to Support Children with Autism

Interplex ESG Team with the children at Ren Ai School, Suzhou, China

Suzhou, China (September 22, 2022) – According to Wikipedia, approximately 1% of the population in China has autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Currently, interventions for children with ASD are carried out by professionals in rehabilitation institutions and special schools, such as Ren Ai School in Suzhou, China.

While China’s Ministry of Education encourages schools to accommodate children with autism, roughly half of the country’s autistic children receive treatment, with 30% receiving behavioral therapy at rehabilitation centers and 20% attending publicly funded special education schools or mainstream schools.

Opened in 2012, Ren Ai School conducts classes for students with moderate and severe mental retardation, autism and multiple disabilities. The school provides free lunches for students in need and aids pre-school students in applying for government grants.

In our bid to support inclusivity and children with special needs, our ESG team in Suzhou visited Ren Ai School to show care and support for the children. The team conducted activities and donated more than 200 storybooks, watercolor pens, pencils and other stationery.

Interplex is grateful for the opportunity to contribute back to the community. We hope that our support and contributions brought joy to the children at Ren Ai School.
